Earlier this month, RestorEar attended the Joint Defense Veterans Audiology Conference (JDVAC) in Valley Center, CA. With ReBound in tow, we met with dozens of audiologists from the VA and Department of Defense to talk about cold therapy and hearing health and hearing loss. Here, we summarize our key takeaways– and share some fun pics of the RestorEar team in action!
Key Takeaways
- Audiologists from all branches of the military attended JDVAC.
- Big topics included occupational noise exposure in the military and caring for the large number of patients with auditory problems.
- Many audiologists noted a need for better options for treatment of tinnitus and hearing loss besides steroids.
- There was a significant interest among attendees about clinical applications of cold therapy (check out our clinical page to learn more!).
- Research presented at JDVAC about the immediate impacts of occupational noise exposure in the military aligned with our collaborator’s findings from the fire service.
- We opened discussions about further collaborations in both the clinical and research spaces.
JDVAC marked our first attendance of many planned conferences this year. Stay tuned and subscribe to our newsletter to see where you can find us next!
